LBPOA WELCOMES YOU AND REQUEST THAT YOU KEEP OUR COMMUNITY CLEAN AND SAFE.  BAG BEACH TRASH AND PLACE IT IN RECEPTACLES AT EACH WALKWAY.  PLACE UNWANTED BEACH CHAIRS AND SUN SHELTERS IN THE DESIGNATED PLACES BEHIND THE RECEPTACLES.  CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PETS.  STAY OFF THE DUNES, WE NEED TO PROTECT THE SEA TURTLES WHO MAKE THEIR NEST AND LAY EGGS IN THE DUNES.  THE DUNES PROTECT US, TO SOME DEGREE, AGAINST HURRICANES FLOOD AND DAMAGE.

This Beach Box Litter Crontrol Program was started in the summer of 2002 and has proven to be an asset in the control of litter on our beaches.  It was jointly implemented by the LBPOA and GEORGETOWN COUNTY.  This program has also proven that residents and vistors do care for our oceanfront and on the succeeding rows of streets.  Other beachfront communities have improved their litter status by following our example.  This proves to us that The Litchfield Beach Litter Control Project is a central tenet of litter fighters: When the community cares, so do others.  Our motto is "Cleaner beaches are in the bag".

We ask that you always take time to explain to beach visitors that the purpose of our Beach Bags Litter Program is to help keep our beach area clean of trash and dog waste.  There is a new law in Georgetown County that requires all pet owners to clean up after their pets.

Keys to the Beach Box Locks are given to each walkway assignee and others as requested.  If there are any others that would like to assist with the boxes, please let us know and request a key.  Due to the wind/rain, the bags will sometimes go back into the box and will need to be pulled out and threaded through the holder.  Also, the rolls often are depleted and need to be dropped down for replenishing and threading.  The top bag holder in box should always contain a new small and large bag roll.

ANYONE NEEDING ROLLS OF SMALL OR LARGE BAGS OR ASSISTANCE WITH LOCKS OR OTHER, PLEASE CALL DEE AT THE LBPOA OFFICE (237-9722) OR LIBBY GARDNER (237-9748)

IF ANYONE HAS SUGGESTIONS AND/OR ADVICE AND HELP ON HOW TO BETTER OUR BEACH BOX LITTER CONTROL PROGRAM AND PROVIDE BETTER INFORMATION, PLEASE LET US KNOW.  WE SEND TO YOU "A BIG THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND CONCERN".

THIS MESSAGE IS FOR THOSE WITH KEYS WHO SERVE THE BEACH BOXES:
ALL BEACH BOX SUPPLIES ARE NOW LOCATED IN THE LBPOA OFFICE AND YOU WILL NEED TO TELEPHONE DEE AT 237-9722 TO MAKE SURE SHE IS AVAILABLE TO HELP YOU AND THEN YOU WILL NEED TO GO TO HER OFFICE AND PICK UP YOUR NEEDED SUPPLIES.
