LBPOA FOURTH OF JULY
This is an annual event for Members and Friends.  What a wonderful day to be at the Beach.  At Ten in the morning in observance of the fourth, the wildly decorated golf carts begin to gather on Hanover Drive in North Litchfield Beach for the annual parade.  Everyone shows up including an official "escort" from the Sheriff's Department.  Candy and other small momentos are thrown to the crowd.  All are welcome to join in or just watch.  Some members provide drinks, watermelon, on the way.  Bicycles and walkers are included.  A fireworks display can be enjoyed by all in the evening from Garden City to Debordieu.  The sky will be lit with color and boom for all to hear.  A fitting close to a fabulous day.  What a wonderful day to be at the beach!  The exact date of this holiday parade is almost always on July 4th.  We expect that this will be the case for 2010, we'll give plenty of advance notice if there are any changes for this, or any other, year.  If someone wishes to organize a similar parade to be held in Litchfield Beach, please contact our LBPOA President and we'll help with the planning for such an event, if you desire.

A group of young people who vacation at Litchfield have been organizing a military flyover on July 4th afternoon.  An Air Force C-17 will be making a low pass over the beach around 2:00pm July 4th afternoon, followed by another plane taking video of the beach.  The idea is to get as many people as possible on the beach waving red, white and blue, flags, etc. and sending the video to the troops abroad as a "salute" and show of support from the SC coast.  See www.salutefromtheshore.org for more information.  We want Litchfield to be represented well and encourage you and your friends to participate by being on the beach for the flyover.

LPBOA BLOCK PARTY
THE DATE FOR THE 2009 BLOCK PARTY  is _____________ with a rain date of _____________________.   This is another opportunity for LBPOA Members and Friends to communicate with each other.  BRING A COVERED DISH, DRINK AND CHAIR for your group, all else will be provided.  We need for you to register when you arrive, so that we can provide each person with a name tag.  The Block Party will be held at Litchfield Retreat (Bobcat entrance) in North Litchfield.  If further information is needed/desired, please contact Nancy Young (843-237-3355).  If someone wishes to organize a similiar type Block Party to be held in Litchfield Beach, please contact our LBPOA President, and we'll help with the planning for such an event, if you desire.
